Patient Responsibilities

A list of fees is available at our office for your reference. These are comparable to those of other competent cardiology specialists. After your visit with the doctor, you will receive a receipt which will describe the service, fee, and date of your visit. Statements are mailed after we receive payment from your insurance carrier. If you do not understand any item on your statement, please call and ask our bookkeeper for help, preferably between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.

If your insurance requires a co-payment, it must be made at each visit (this may include visits only for lab work). Accounts are payable at the time service is rendered. We understand that there are circumstances in which it is impossible to pay the full balance of a medical bill at one time. We would appreciate your discussing this with our bookkeeper so that we can work out a satisfactory payment plan. For your convenience, we accent cash, check, and most major credit cards.

Some insurance plans require the approval of your primary care physician. Please obtain the authorization from your primary doctor prior to your visit here. Failure to get authorization may result in delay or additional expense
to you; it is even possible the appointment will have to be rescheduled for a later date.

If you have changes to your insurance, address, marital status, etc., please advise the receptionist when you check in. Please remember that we see patients by appointment. Patients who come in to see the doctor without an appointment, unless it's an emergency, will be advised that they probably will have to wait until the end of the the doctor's scheduled appointments to be seen. Therefore, it is always advisable to phone the office to schedule an appointment instead of just walking in.

If you are on certain medicines which require regular checks in our laboratory, please remember that we plan our day according to the patients who have appointments that day. Walk-ins for lab work are discouraged. Please phone the day before you wish to have your blood work drawn so that we may have your medical record available and avoid unnecessary delays.

Trust is the foundation of a good doctor-patient relationship. We count it a privilege that you have placed your trust in us, and we will do all in our power to keep that trust. We have tried to organize our office to give you the best medical care possible. If you have any problems with the care you have received, or with any of our staff, please tell us about it so that we can avoid any misunderstandings.
