Physicians and Nurses

Dr. Brackbill is originally from New Jersey.  He graduated with Phi Beta Kappa honors from Wesleyan University (1964) and from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons (1968).  He completed his training in internal medicine at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine (1971) and his cardiology training at the University of Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester (1973).  After serving as LCDR and Chief of Cardiology, US Naval Hospital in Beaufort, SC, he came to Greensboro in 1975 and joined DR. Palmer Shelburne in the practice of cardiology and internal medicine.

Dr Brackbill and his wife Ruth, have two grown children.  Dr. Brackbill's interests include church, family activities and outdoor sports, especially tennis golf and hiking.
