Appointments

At the time you are seen for initial evaluation, we will review your medical history, family history and will perform a physical examination and necessary laboratory testes.  Your doctor will discuss reports of any tests that are available at the time of your examination and you will be notified of the results of additional tests by telephone or letter.  Do not be alarmed if we ask you to return to the office for your reports, as we do this frequently to discuss your medication or special diet.  A report of these tests will be sent to your referring physician.

When you call our office, please let the appointment secretary know if you need to come for a complete examination or for an office visit, or tell her your symptoms if you have an acute illness.  Often, some conditions can be treated simply by ordering medicine from your pharmacist.  Needless to say, acutely ill patients are seen as soon as possible and we appreciate your patience when re run late because of an emergency.  If an emergency should occur and we cannot keep the appointment, we will make every effort to contact you to reschedule the appointment.  We will try to be considerate of your time and avoid long delays.  If you find that you will be unable to keep an appointment, please notify the office as soon as possible so that another patient can be seen during that appointment period.

If we provide your general medical care, you should make an appointment for a complete history and physical approximately every one to two years.  However, most of our patients have a primary care physician who performs their annual physicals.

When you enter the office, please be sure to register at the receptionist's window.  Please advise her at this time of any changes in your address, insurance, marital status, etc.  Also, if you insurance carrier required an authorization or referral, please provide her with that at the time you check in.
